The G440 driver family, including the MAX, LST, and SFT models, is specifically engineered to increase ball speed through several advancements. These include PING's deepest CG ever in a driver and a thinner face, while still maintaining the exceptional forgiveness that PING drivers are known for. Every model is designed to cater to a specific player type, with head profiles carefully engineered to provide optimal launch conditions for their swing. Overall, the system weight is 10 grams lighter and the standard shaft length is slightly longer, generating a quieter and more pleasing sound while enabling golfers to swing faster for longer, higher drives.
Golfers in need of slice-correction technology fit best in the G440 SFT (Straight Flight) option, which features a two-position (Draw and Draw+), adjustable 23-gram back weight. Offered in 9° and 10.5° lofts.
Through strategic re-allocation of weight in the hosel section, Ping has achieved its deepest center of gravity yet in a driver. This places the center of gravity closer to the force line, resulting in increased ball speed, optimal spin, and higher launch for longer and straighter drives.
