The Ping G440 Golf Hybrids cater to a range of skill levels, each specifically designed to produce distinct ballflight characteristics. From the 2 hybrid with a slight fade bias for off-the-tee performance, to the 5, 6, and 7 hybrids which encourage draw shots for optimal gapping. These hybrids all share a new, thinner and shallower face design that enhances contact for increased ball speed and higher launching shots that land and stop on the green. Additionally, the multi-material construction of stainless steel, maraging steel, and carbon contributes to greater ball speed and distance with a lower center of gravity. The redesigned back weight also allows for a sleeker sole design, creating a flush club-to-ground contact and consistent face angle.
The use of a shallower face (8%) in this hybrid enables golfers to achieve higher ball contact, resulting in increased launch height. Furthermore, the optimized face profile and thinner face (6%) contribute to heightened ball speed in the center of the face and controlled speed on off-center strikes.
By reducing mass in the hosel, screw, and heel of all hybrid lofts by 4g, the center of gravity is lowered by 12%. This, combined with the reduced face height, results in improved launch and stopping power while maintaining ball speed.
